really important bit

• I have a little sister, Eloïse, who is utterly cool, but getting dangerously close to teenage. I'm looking forward to her visiting in New York when she's civilized and wants to go shopping with me.
• And then, I have two cool goddaughters, Isobel and Claudia… pictures to follow… watch this space.

• A few years back, I read about Vipassana meditation in Time Out New York, and attended the ten-day course at Dhara Dhamma in Massachussetts. It's was a transformative experience, and I try to keep the meditation practice going. I'm a lot happier for it.
• I have a personal twitter feed, as well as the professional one on the front page, and I occasionally blog. Very occasionally.

I was four or five blocks away from Tower 2 of the World Trade Center when the first plane struck it, and I wrote an account of my morning later that day, which I've preserved as a record.

Oddly, I have a photograph from September 11, 1973, which was my first day of school at The Gatehouse, near Victoria Park in London. Spooky.
